Most movie buffs are familiar with Lee Van Cleef from his work opposite Clint
Eastwood in the films For a Few Dollars More and The Good, the Bad,
and the Ugly. But Van Cleef starred in a significant number of movies
before and after that, (High Noon, for one) including some interesting mystery films.
Kansas City Confidential - 1953
The Big Combo - 1955. Film noir.
Escape from Death Row - 1976.
The Octagon - 1979. This is a
Chuck Norris film, and it's a treat to have Chuck Norris and Lee Van
Cleef in the same movie.
The Squeeze - 1980. Also stars Karen Black, whom we loved in
Five Easy Pieces. This film has about as many alternate titles as
it has people who've seen it; it's also known as The Heist, The Rip-Off,
and Diamond Thieves.
